If I remember, they skipped over it in the show, but H.o.p. saw the dragon and excitedly pointed it out and wanted to know what it was. We’ve talked about Draco numerous times before. We talked about Draco again and a bit on the myths concerning it.

And I realized that in a dream I had yesterday I was walking the Summer Zodiac. It hadn’t occurred to me at the time. Only realized it as I was staring up at the night sky superimposed upon the planetarium’s vault, which is pretty large, pretty impressive. We’ve been to the Fernbank Science Center a number of times, and have made a few visits to the observatory, and when you have never been to a planetarium, what can I say that walking into it, the entrance on the floor beneath the main one, one feels as though one has stumbled into a secret cavern, a veritable python’s den.

I ask H.o.p. what he learned at the Planetarium today. “About stars and planets,” he replies.

Uh, well…yeah, I guess that’s the long and short of it.

Instead of the visit to the Planetarium inspiring him to talk about the planets and stars, he’s been instead rattling on about what he knows about Greek and Roman mythology, asking questions in particular about the legends of such heroes as Hercules and Jason.

Pond at the Fernbank Science Center It’s a fairly nice small pond to sit beside for a little while.
