Tales of Obstructing Justice

The landlord’s assistant relates that one of the women who lived above us (just moved out) looked out one night recently to see the police preparing to tow the car of her roommate who was out of town and was parked unknowingly in a no parking zone that was unmarked. She went running outside and begged them to not tow the car, telling them she had the car keys of her roommate, who was out of town, and she’d move the car. The police arrested her for obstructing justice.

The same landlord’s assistant saw the police preparing to tow a car across the street. He called out to the police that the car’s owner had just run up to the bank and would be back any moment. The police got peeved and yelled at him was he obstructing justice, because if he was they would be pleased to arrest him. The Vietnam wart vet said, “No, sir,” and retired to our building.
