BIG EYED GOJI GIRLS (BLAST FROM THE PAST IN A TUBE)

Look what arrived in a box from my mom, 4 mass-produced lithos in pretty much pristine condition from 1965, ordered from “Great Art Treasures” at 420 Lexington Avenue in New York, bulk rate, US postage paid, still in their original mailing tube.

These were probably destined for my bedroom wall but never made it there. We were living at 2024 Everest Street in Richland, Washington at the time (plutoniumville). Says so on the tube.

At the bottom of each one is printed copyright R. T. V. sales inc. 1965.

I’m not even a fan of big eyed 60s art, but I must frame and hang at least one. Maybe two. Don’t have room for all four.

Yeah, baby!! Boy does that take me back. Yes, you must hang one or two. I’m also thinking a smaller version would look just lovely decoupaged onto a nice log slice.

Were there any sad clowns lurking in the tube?

How about the refrigerator door? Anyone tried decoupaging stuff to a refrigerator door? No, forget that, I need the magnet space.

But seriously, two of my preschool nieces could have ended up with these, and perhaps should have. Then I thought no, I never had any big eyed girls up on my wall and it’s about time I did. It’s like having something show up in the mail several decades late.

I just found a tube of four GOJI prints. Do you know the value of these. They are pristine.

Look on Ebay. They’re not going to be worth much.

The prints were widely circulated and probably are worth about as much as they were back when. Check eBay.
