2012 Chinese New Year Celebration

Two of my lovely nieces performed on Saturday at the celebration and I made way through the jam packed crowd to the back stage area to visit with them beforehand. It was a debut appearance for this niece while the other one (her back to the camera here) has been dancing for several years. Outside, there was a torrential downpour. Inside, it was too packed to begin to make one’s way around the wall to wall food concessions, which was too bad as the little we had was great. Because of the downpour, the dragon dance was on stage rather than outside. We managed to catch an occasional glimpse from the room’s rear, before we all packed up and went to a nearby restaurant to continue our celebration there.
