Yes, we love Brainpop and Brainpop Jr., but have a suggestion

And speaking of obnoxious humor that kids love (see above post), Brainpop knows how to make use of it with Tim and his robot Moby to draw kids in and capture their interest while dispensing science knowledge (and health and social studies and math and technology). Why do I bring this up? I can’t be sure but it seems like someone connected with Brainpop has dropped by checking out my post on Brainpop Jr., and if this is the case it means they’re interested in what’s being said about the new baby while it’s in the development stage. Well, rest assured, if H.o.p.’s response is any indication, Brainpop Jr. will be every bit as beloved as Brainpop Sr. My son was back at Brainpop Jr. again last night, people at Brainpop. Check your logs. He’s the kid from Atlanta who spends hours at Brainpop Sr., has for the past couple of years and shows no sign of tiring of it. Last night he visited Brainpop Jr. again, played around a while, then logged into Brainpop Sr. for more of the Flash presentations that he’s watched 10,000 times 10,000 times already. We love your site, needless to say. The science and health knowledge dispensed beats out any of the science texts I’ve purchased for him, and I’m looking forward to seeing what you’ll be putting together for lesson plans (see that is a “coming soon” feature). The one suggestion that I have is that for subscribers it would be nice to have available a record of the Flash presentations viewed and quizes taken, a sweet plus for homeschoolers who use your site as a supplement.

My son is about as dedicated a user of your site as it gets. He also loved the science almanac you sent us when we signed on a couple of years ago. It is now past dog-eared and to the point of falling apart.

Hey, you’re right, we were checking out who was writing about us! I really like your suggestion of keeping track of the movies that have been watched and quizzes that have been taken and I forwarded your suggestion to the managing editor at BrainPOP (Sr.) As we speak we’re working on lesson plans for Jr. and we’re gonna launch a few in November. Hopefully teachers and parents will submit their lesson plans. Also, our Grown Ups section has background info and activities you can do at home/school. I know it’s not quite a lesson plan, but the activities are fun. And of course, I’d be happy to send you another almanac and also a BrainPOP shirt for your son. Thanks for all the positive feedback!

Grand! H.o.p. will be thrilled with a new almanac and shirt. I’ve no doubt he’ll wear that shirt until threadbare. I just told him and his response is all happy grins, jumping up and down, exclaiming, “Wow! This is the greatest day of my life!” He is a diehard fan.
