My parental duty for the day has been locating old pipe organ music on the net for H.o.p. He wanted to hear and we don’t have a turntable to play the several albums of Italian, German and English renaissance organ music that we used to have which got all scratched up and are either in someone’s basement or in the landfill, I don’t know which.
It’s not so easy locating old pipe organ music on the net. I was willing to pay itunes for it but they had nothing in which we were interested. But I finally found a website with pointers and am now attempting to download some things from the University of Trento. The process is an elaborate one of having to create compilations and so I created a test one and am attempting to download. It’s taking a while. Will see how this turns out.
Damn, this is taking a while.
Took a long while for such a short selection, but the first piece is present and playing and I’m downloading another.
After reading some of the blogs and news today it was, admittedly, nice to launch into some Medieval and Baroque music, wash my mind a bit with it and feel vaguely inspired by humans for once. Good music doesn’t smooth over all eruptions but I could do with more musical meditation.
Second download done and have put up some toys in the meanwhile. It’s tough for me to concentrate on doing anything else when I’m doing medium-length downloads.
H.o.p. thus far isn’t impressed with Cabezone…
