Isis, oh, Isis, you mystical child, what drives me to you is what drives me insane

The painting is based on a photo first seen in my scary Halloween post used there to document our being stranded on spaghetti junction. I was thinking, when I took the photo, not only that I would hopefully never be again in such a position to take such a photo, stranded on the side of spaghetti junction, but that there was a painting here, and began one that evening that I then set aside for a long while.

A meditation on the myth of Isis, and how the fun thing about Isis or Osiris or Christ etc. is one could title any picture with a deity/spirit name and meaning would ultimately and many times appropriately be derived. I could do a pic of my bookshelf and call it Christ and meaning would commence to happen. Which isn’t a matter of gaming. Just is.

I borrowed the eyes of Sandro Milo, who played Isis in Giulietta degli spiriti.
