Kubrick's Lolita:
Location of the Ferry in Shot 267

Go to TOC for this film ( (which has also a statement on purpose and manner of analysis and a disclaimer as to caveat emptor and my knowing anything authoritatively, which I do not, but I do try to not know earnestly, with some discretion, and considerable thought).

Lolita

The top image is shot 267 from Kubrick’s Lolita. The bottom image is the ferry in question that is captured in that shot. This was unidentified at the time of my original post, or else I'd not have had to go looking for it, my method being to search for old images of ferries in that area. I was fortunate to eventually find the bottom image of a ferry that certainly matched and was identified as the Jamestown Ferry landing at Newport, Rhode Island, now Ferry Wharf. Jamestown Ferry landing appears to have been in operation until the 1960s.

March 2016 excerpted portion from analysis.
